TRENTON COUNCIL OF CIVIC ASSOCIATIONS
General Membership Meeting
February 12, 2015
At Thomas Edison State College, Trenton
Convened at: 7:02 p.m.
President Brian Viehland called the meeting to order at: 7:02 p.m.
The following Civic Associations were present: Hitonia Assc, Cadwalader Heights, Fisher Pl, Melrose Ave, Franklin Park, PROS, Neighborhood Improvement Assc, Island Civic Assc, Trenton Police Dp, United Way and TCNJ.
Copies of Agenda were distributed. Agenda reviewed and a motion was made by Rachel and seconded by Bernard McMullen to approve the agenda as written. With no further discussion, the agenda was approved.
Michelle Cbelama, Program Director from the NJ Tennis League of Trenton
Ms. Cbelama, presented an overview of NJ Tennis League (NJTL) of Trenton National Junior Tennis & Learning upcoming program and activities. At the end of her presentation, Ms. Cbelama, mentioned that TCCA can help NJTL by providing information to the community, invite NJTL to events, volunteer and provide ideals as to how NJTL can better serve Trenton’s communities.
Executive Board Action:
Copies for November 2014 and January 2015 minutes were distributed. Minutes reviewed and a motion was made by Bernard McMullen and seconded by Rachel to approve the minutes as written. With no further discussion, the minutes were approved.
No further discussion was entertained nor action taken at this meeting.
A brief report was presented detailing thirteen (13) paid members. Cooper Crossing HOA pondering joining. After meeting adjournment, Trent Center West, submitted their membership check. A more updated report will be presented at our next meeting.
Ed Wittmann, mentioned that our facebook page is growing and Mercer County re-entry Task Force is meeting on a regular basis.
A full report was distributed and uploaded on website. Members reviewed the deposits/disbursements/and reported a current balance $11,185.73 as of February 12, 2015. A motion was made by Cameron Hunt and seconded by Rachel to accept the Treasurers Report. With no other discussion, the Treasurer Report was accepted.
Bernard McMullen, the Constitutional and Bylaws Chair stated that bylaws committee did meet and reached a final conclusion about IRS 501(c) 3 formation. Bylaws committee concluded that it make little sense for TCCA to pursue 501(c) 3, because it don’t qualify. A motion and vote will be presented on March 12, 2014 to strike out ALL language from bylaws that mentions 501(c) 3.
Chester Jones, the Planning and Events Committee Chair passed out 2015 banquet volunteer sheets and student nomination sheets. A more detailed report will be presented at our March 12, 2015 meeting
President Brian Viehland, suggested that TCCA members focus and support activities on anti-dumping, litter and trash in our City. At our March 12, 2015 meeting this topic will be revisited.

Rachel Cogsville-Lattimer, the Growth Committee Chair mentioned that our shared google calendar and newsletters article sharing are active/up to date. Also, suggested that we hold a social gathering.
President Brian Viehland, suggested for us to get out the word and attend CPAC community/police dialog scheduled on February 23, 6:00pm at Masonic temple.
TCNJ Class Project involves students writing articles profiling the community interest of civil groups. At our March 12, 2015 meeting this topic will be revisited.
Being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:55pm.
